The Mortar sits deep inside the base with clear splash coverage over the approach, making it harder for grouped Barbarians, Archers and Goblins to swarm through without being punished.

The Town Hall and Clan Castle are placed centrally, forcing attackers through multiple compartments while your Cannons and Archer Towers keep firing from different angles.

Walls split the base into several sections, slowing down Giants and other ground troops while giving your defenses more time to eliminate them before they reach the core.

Check your defense log after every attack to see which side attackers enter from most, then adjust traps and defenses around that area.

The Mortar is your only splash-damage defense at TH3 and can't hit targets too close to it. Keep it tucked behind walls so a single Giant or Wall Breaker can't take it out early.
